Arctic Warriors

Although many of us are, no doubt, ready for the warmer days of spring and summer to wash over our increasingly sun-starved bodies, I must admit that Nom de Guerre's Fall '09 collection left me in silent anticipation of next winter.

Entitled 'The Third Generation', the collection had a very practical approach, with its use of thick knitwear, slim fitting outerwear and smart yet comfortably warm looks. Admittedly the functional warmth of the clothing was somewhat contrasted by the styling of the lookbook. However, the need for strength and function within such a harsh environment, as winter provides was nicely realised with accessories including fur covered boots, utility belts and chains of ammunition.

Underneath these character providing accessories were beautifully constructed and fitted winter pieces. The olive, grey and brown, thick woolen pieces were especially exciting, lending their designs to both casual and smart outfits. Along with the knitwear were Nom de Guerre's natural fit denim jeans. These have always garnered a certain attention, and with their latest light grey, raw denim offerings, this attention was certainly well deserved. The cut of their smart woolen suits and double breasted coats were exceptional, and indeed suit most winter environments nicely.

What are your thoughts on the collection?
