"Hood Rats to Upper Class Heroes"

It seems that whenever I tend to browse through streetwear collections I am usually drawn to a premium simplicity of basics - standard streetwear garments that are manufactured to a high quality individual to the aesthetic of the specific brand or designer. I was therefore pleasantly surprised when recently looking over the latest Holiday Collection for Australian streetwear brand, Insight.

The brand which is rooted deeply within skateboarding and surf culture, took a relatively new direction for their latest collection. They took their vision and applied it to high end streetwear, not simply streetwear engineered to a premium, but rather premium clothing crafted by the hands of streetwear. As such the resulting collection is far more elegant and sophisticated than previous clothing from the brand. Although not boundary altering in terms of mainstream fashion, this is yet another example of streetwear catching up and challenging previously held notions of their concept. I for one enjoy those streetwear brands which cater to this somewhat more elegant look without trying to move away from their street roots.

Given the money, I think a few of these pieces would make a nice addition to my wardrobe. Indeed I think any future better half of mine may also have a piece or two from the womens collection coming her way.
