This zeitgeist demands true-to-life realness, but I want to portray fantasy. Rather than explain things in words, I want the items I create to speak for themselves.
Currently feeling feverish and wrapped in a blanket so my magpie tendencies have come to the forefront. I love the atmosphere of this lookbook for the Autumn/Winter 2023 collection by Daisuke Tanaka. Combining his roles as both fashion designer and embroidery artist, Tanaka creates a beautifully whimsical collection that feels magical to my eye. Plus he professes to draw his inspiration from anime including Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura, so how could I not be curious? Back to bed for me, to dream of saving the moon while riding an elegantly outfitted horse.
