Gaultier, Yamamoto, Kawakubo. Almost two decades later and their work is instantly recognizable. More importantly perhaps is that you would simply have to change the styling a touch and the garments could quite easily show alongside each designer's current work. Compare that to the other three lines (all designed by Lagerfeld), which because of their desire to be so very much of the moment, now feel rather dated. There is an important lesson there I think.
