Childhood Favourites

My weekend was mildly eventful, I actually managed to stroll along to the park and take a few photographs, which sounds relatively minor, but for me was anything but. Unfortunately it seems the price I have to pay for such pursuits nowadays is a day in bed with some internal bleeding, however life is full of such wonderful compromises - we learn to overcome them.

My outfits have been below par, however I decided to post them for the simple fact that I was wearing articles of clothing, that although are far from exciting, brought back many childhood memories. The first piece you can see is a simple t-shirt with some of favourite superheroes (...ok, so Gambit and Wolverine from X-Men are missing, as is Spiderman), which I adore as it allows a 'grown up' take on a childhood memory.

The second set of photographs show my wine coloured corduroy jeans, on a rather dull outfit in all honesty. However, I remember as a child having a similar coloured pair of corduroy dungarees (overalls, if you will). They were one of my favourite articles of clothing, as were my dark blue corduroy jeans. For that sheer feeling of childish joy, I decided to buy a pair that I could now wear. The day started in Doc Martens, but after lugging them around for a few hours, I gave in to wearing plimsoles for my evening wander through the park.

There is something about buying an article of clothing, however plain, that you were fond of as a child, that gives the greatest sense of joy.

Currently playing: The Magic Roundabout - Sway (in order to understand the concept behind this song, you ought to know that 'The Magic Roundabout' was a children's show, originally aired in France, that was broadcast in the UK during the 1960s/70s. It has since achieved cult status among a certain generation, due to the dry wit that is oddly, given its intended audience, more often appreciated by adults than children)
