Smell me, I smell like 'The One'

So I was shopping for my brother's birthday the other day and as usual I found myself walking along the familiar path of the Fragrance Department of House of Fraser (ok familiar is an understatement, I hearts fragrance departments worldwide). Anyhoo, looking for something I liked to give him and I came across the newly released Dolce&Gabbana The One for Men. For those of you who remember, the women's version came out a while back with those flurrying adverts starring Gisele Bundchen. The men's version is being spearheaded by Matthew McConaughey, a good choice, but I wish the rumours of George Clooney had been true...although admittedly they may have ended up targeting a slightly older audience than intended.

I love the fact that Gabbana said it was to be 'a real man's fragrance'. The scent itself is simply delightful, it's masculine but not too in your face (nobody likes Mr 'Did you use half the bottle?!') and while it may be more of an evening scent, it's still light enough to be able to use during the day provided you're dressed reasonably smart. The deeper tones are a wonderful cedarwood, ginger, orange blossom and cardamom, but the sealer for the deal for me were the fruity top notes. The spicy hints that include grapefruit are refreshing and light. All in all, definitely something to invest it, maybe not a signature scent, but a nice addition to any dapper man's collection :)
